Australian companies can use named AUD account details for local collections and payouts while adding USD and EUR routes for international business. This guide covers the available rails, account setup, onboarding documents, and local stablecoin regulation.
International payment routes for Australian companies
An approved Australian company can collect and send AUD through local account-to-account rails, receive USD or EUR from overseas customers, and pay international suppliers. Invoices, transaction records, and supporting documents stay together for reconciliation and review.
Both AUD pay-in and payout use account details in the company's name. Australia supports account-to-account payments through the New Payments Platform (NPP) and the Bulk Electronic Clearing System (BECS).
Supported payment rails
AUD local accounts support both pay-in and payout with account details in the company's name. USD is available through SWIFT.
| Currency | Direction | Corridor | USD vs Spread | Payment Fee | Sender account |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| USD | Pay-in | SWIFT (Global) | - | $25 | Account under your company name |
| USD | Payout | SWIFT (Global) | - | $25 | Account under your company name |
| AUD | Pay-in | NPP / BECS | 0.5% | 0.5% | Account under your company name |
| AUD | Payout | NPP / BECS | 0.5% | 0.5% | Account under your company name |
Documents to prepare
For onboarding, an Australian company should prepare:
- an ASIC Certificate of Registration and current company extract
- an Australian Business Number record from the Australian Business Register
- a lease, utility bill, or business bank statement dated within the past 90 days as proof of address
- a board resolution or Power of Attorney authorizing the application
HEVN may also request identity documents for directors and beneficial owners, an ownership chart, contracts and invoices, expected counterparties, and evidence of source of funds.
Stablecoins and regulation in Australia
Australia regulates stablecoin and crypto services through its AML/CTF framework. AUSTRAC states that virtual assets include stablecoins such as USDC and USDT, and that businesses providing covered exchange, transfer, or custody services must meet the applicable registration and compliance requirements.
Australian companies may use supported stablecoins through approved providers, subject to the provider, token, payment purpose, and tax treatment. For ordinary customer and supplier payments, AUD or international fiat transfers are usually simpler and create bank records that are easier to reconcile for accounting and tax reporting.
Benefits of a Fiat Account for an Australian company
- Receive payments from US customers through ACH or domestic wire.
- Use account details in your company's name for both AUD and USD payments.
- Keep USD to pay US suppliers, contractors, software vendors, and other operating costs.
- Move funds between the named AUD account and the Fiat Account when another currency or payment rail is needed.
- Keep invoices, payment records, confirmations, exports, roles, and approvals in one workspace.
We'll confirm available accounts, payment rails, limits, pricing, and expected account-opening time during onboarding.
